Uluslararası Ticarette Demiryolunun Lojistik Performansa Etkisi

Abstract

Bir ülkenin ekonomik performansının en önemli göstergeleri Gayri Safi Yurtiçi Hâsılası (GSYH), büyüme oranı ve ticaret hacmidir. Lojistiğin bu göstergelere önemli katkısı bulunmaktadır. Bu nedenle, ülkenin, özellikle diğer bölge ve dünya ülkelerine kıyasla, uluslararası pozisyonu ve hangi alanlarda iyileştirmeler yapılması gerektiği konusunda fikir edinmek amacıyla lojistik performansını ölçmek önem taşımaktadır. Dünya Bankasının iki yılda bir yayınladığı Lojistik Performans Endeksi (LPI), ülkeler arasında kıyaslama yapabilmek için ilk başvurulan kaynak durumundadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Lojistik Performans Endeksi (LPI) verilerini kullanarak Türkiye’nin uluslararası ticaret kapasitesini etkileyen sorun noktalarının ne olduğunu ve hangi alanların geliştirilmesi gerektiğini özellikle de demiryolunun lojistik performansa etkisini incelemektir.

The most important indicators of a country’s economic performance are gross domestic product (GDP), economic growth and trade volume. Logistics has a significant contribution to these indicators. In this regard, it is important to measure the logistics performance of a country especially to have a better insight in its international position compared to competing economies and countries in the region or worldwide and to have a better understanding on which measures should be taken to improve the logistics performance in the most effective way. The logistics performance index (LPI) published biannually by the World Bank is the first source to make comparison among countries. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problem areas that affect the international trade capacity of Turkey and to assess the areas that need improvement and especially the impact of railways on the logistics performance.
