Issue Date: | 2019 | Publisher: | Inderscience Enterprises Ltd | Abstract: | In sea transport having dynamic conditions, for all energy consuming equipment's of ships, effective and efficient use of energy is important to ensure. In this study, the thermodynamics performance effect related to cooling process of main engine (diesel) according to changes of sea water temperature was examined. Besides, environmental evaluation were also made depending on exergetic losses considering fuel consumption. In this context, effectiveness of cooling water activity for the main engine, which is 69.39% on its average exergy destruction, were calculated. According this results, the effect rate related to CO2 emission potential considering fuel consumption of the ship were also found as approximately 14 ton CO2. Accordingly, evaluations and suggestions based on the results of the analysis were also given in end of the study. | URI: | https://doi.org/10.1504/IJGW.2019.101086 https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.13087/1722 |
