A PARADIGM SHIFT IN THE DESIGN CONCEPT TOWARDS IT'S ORIGIN AND IT'S EXPANSIONS FOR THE SPATIAL DESIGN

Abstract

It is seen that the need to understand the concept of design used by different disciplines has been increased. For this reason, understanding what the origin of the design concept is and what its essence means is getting more and more important to determine the structure of the design process, the factors affecting the design process, and the approach towards the end products. This chancing approach to the design concept tends to its essence which is described as a paradigm shift within the field of design research nowadays. Thus, the aim of this study is to capture the essence of design concept, to determine its expansions, and then put forward them through examining. On this direction, the concepts, which are revealed over again by the approach defined as a paradigm shift are tried to be indicated for the spatial design in this article.
